As many as two persons identified as Ajay Reang and Saijul Hoque have been arrested today at Gandacherra in connection with the violent attack carried out at the residence of newly elected BJP MP Rebati Tripura.
According to sources in the police department, both them have been identified as members of the group which ransacked the residence of Rebati Tripura late on the Friday night. The sources in the police department also said that incessant raids were being carried out to nail each and every persons involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, a delegation of BJP leaders this morning visited the violence stricken areas of the subdivision. The delegation comprising BJP state General Secretary Rajeeb Bhattacharjee, spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee, Pradesh President of Janajati Morcha Sanjay Jamatia and Dhalai District President Parimal Debbarma along with Gandacherra Mondol President Bikash Chakma rushed to Gandacherra hospital to meet injured party activist Kishore Chakma and inquired of the incident took place yesterday at Raisyabari. Kishore Chakma sustained serious injuries when clashes broke out at Raisyabari yesterday centering a victory rally organized by the BJP. The visiting BJP leaders made arrangements to shift Kishore to GBP hospital at the earliest.
Later on, the party leaders went to the residence of MP Rebati Tripura where they paid an inspection visit to the damaged properties of the MP. They also gave a deputation to the Superintend of Police Dhalai district.
The party leaders apprised the police super of the terrifying situation prevailed among the BJP supporters throughout the area and asked to take necessary steps as early as possible. They were also assured of all the support from the police department and made aware of the fact that already police had initiated an investigation, and two persons were arrested accordingly.
Speaking to the media persons, the BJP leaders said, a well orchestrated conspiracy is being hatched by some people in order to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the state and a section of innocent IPFT supporters are being used for their gain. Such attempts will not be entertained from the BJP and the government of Tripura any more. Strict actions will be taken against them. The party leaders also participated in an organizational meeting at the party office later.
