Tripura University observed the death anniversary of Kabi Guru Rabindranath Tagore on 8th August, 2019 at 11.00 Am by giving flowers in the feet of the Tagore Statue in front of the open theater in the Campus.
To commemorate Death Anniversary Tagore, Central Library has opened a separate section in the library called ‘Rabindranath Tagore Study Corner’ to facilitate students to read the books on and by Kabi Guru Rabindranath Tagore.
Prof. V. L. Dharurkar, Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University said the contribution of Rabindranath is unparallel in the field of literature and he was the first man to receive Nobel in Asian countries in the field of literature.
On the same day, Central Library has also opened the facility of screening SWAYAM PRABHA Satellite Channels inside Library conference room for the students of Tripura University said Dr. B. Sanjay, Librarian.
The program was inaugurated by Prof. Sukanta Banik, Registrar (i/c) and Dean of Sciences, TU at 11:00 AM inside the first floor, Central Library. On the same day, in memory of the Tagore, the Department of Bengali has also organized a talk on Rabindranath Tagore under the initiatives of HoD, Dr. Rintu Das in the Auditorium of Academic Building-XI among the students of literature.
An Artist Swapan Nandi was also present in the program as an invited speaker on Rabindranath Tagore. The program ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Paramashree Dasgupta.
