As the former Tripura Minister and currently the deputy opposition leader Badal Chowdhury is still untraceable despite police effort of door to door search in operation to nab him, the Additional District Court today send the one of the three accused of Rs.600 crore alleged PWD scam - the former PWD Engineer-in-Chief Sunil Bhowmik send to 5 days police remand. Mr. Bhwomik was arrested on October 14 from his residence on charge of his alleged involvement with the scam which is considered to be the biggest economic scandal held during the Left rule.
Public Prosecutor Advocate Ratin Dutta said, "After a long argument, the court has granted 5 days remand for Mr. Bhowmik after the police submitting the interrogation report demanded for 7 days police remand to unearth more into the case which is considered to be largest economic scandal."
Mr. Bhowmik one of the three accused of the Rs. 600 crore alleged PWD scam shall be produced before the court on October 23rd next. Meantime, it is worthy to mention here that the Tripura High Court is scheduled to hear the bail petition of scam accused Badal Chowdhury on October 21 (Monday) under the bench of Justice Arindam Lodh.
