Tripura registered another fresh 260 COVID-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours with the positivity rate resting to 10.92%.
Out of 2380 samples tested, Covid infection was found in samples of 260 persons in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning.
The West Tripura district is contributing the maximum number of cases and gradually becoming a Covid hotspot.
However, the positive cases are going up as the number of sample testing is increasing, said an official adding that the state health department is contemplating a plan to start mass testing with an aim to break the transmission chain of Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, as many as 1,60,183 eligible people have already been administered with the precaution doses of Covid vaccine, according to an official report. The vaccination drive commenced from July 15 last.
