Tripura along with rest of the world on Thursday observed World Hypertension Day in order to raise awareness and promote hypertension prevention, detection and control. The state health minister Sudip Roy Barman has inaugurated the main programme held at Agartala IGM hospital.
Addressing the gathering in the programme Barman pitched for massive awareness in every corner of the society. He also said that government is committed to provide better health care in the state.
Observing the day is aimed at promoting public awareness about hypertension and to encourage citizens around the world to prevent and control this silent killer. The theme for this year is "Know Your Numbers" with a goal of creating awareness around the world about blood pressure.
