The Tripura government has given utmost importance to quality education, said education minister Ratan Lal Nath on Friday. He said that government is working on the basis of the slogan of 'Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura, Atmanirbhar Tripura' and 'Sabka Satya Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas'.
The education minister on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed two-storey building of Srirampur Suryamani Memorial Class XII School at Kailasahar.
The government is continuously implementing various programs for the development of the state. So far 31,263 teachers have been trained, adding to this the minister said that 10 schools in the Unakoti district have been brought under the Vidya Jyoti project. 135 schools in the state have been converted from Bengali to English medium.
He said that Vocational education has also been introduced. The scope of the Teacher Education Institute (DIET) has been expanded in every district of the state. 4 madrasas have been converted to English medium. Out of 22 colleges in the state, 21 colleges have come under NEET. The opportunity to study master's degree in Bengali has been expanded in 6 colleges. M.Tech is being introduced in 4 subjects in TIT. Initiatives have been taken to make Mother's Campus in hostels, he said.
