Hundred bedded Tribal Girls Hostel of Balaram High School inaugurated at Dhalai district today. Local MLA Lalit Debbarma inaugurated the girls hostel who was the first year student of the school.
An expense of Rs 2,17,07,384 spent from the fund of Rastriya Madhyamik Shikhsha Abhijan to construct the hostel. Among others chairman of Ambassa Panchayat Samiti Tapati Bhattacharjee, former Panchayat Samiti Member Kajal Deb were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile local people expressed their resentment due to absence of any minister in the inaugural programme which shows the attitude of making Dhalai district backward. Senior citizens of the locality expected the attendance of minister for inauguration of such a big hostel for tribal girls.
Speaking on the occasion MLA Lalit Debbarma said, “I was born in the school area and my father donated 20 kani land for the school. I am the first year student of the school.” He further said, “We could not imagine that the school of the village would convert into such a large school. It upgraded from Primary to Senior Basic. At present it has been upgraded to High School. The school may be upgraded to H.S. School in days to come. However the school could never upgraded to higher level or construction of hostel and electrification would not have been possible without cooperation of local people.
Among others Headmaster of the school, Panchayat Samiti Chairman Tapati Debbarma, OSD of Education department Abanindra Pal delivered speech on the occasion.
