Tripura Journalist Union has convened its biennial conference at Agartala Press Club on June 30 next. In a press statement issued by the Journalist outfit, it was informed that in the executive committee meeting of the organization held today, a decision has been taken to organize the biennial conference on June 30 next.
It has been also informed that Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and education Minister Ratan Lal Nath would be invited as inaugurator and special guest respectively.
“The new state committee of the organization will be formed during the conference. All the district committees of organization have been directed to send the names of new members within June 20 next along with subscription dues” reads the statement.
In the beginning of the meeting “moment of silence” was observed to pay respect to the deceased journalists—Milan De Sarkar, Swapan Sengupta, Animesh Datta and Manishankar Chowdhury.
