Sadar Subdivision became West District champion today in the Under 17 Girl’s school football tournament as the tournament held today at Gandhigram School field. Sadar, Mohanpur and Jirania subdivision took part in the tournament.
In the morning Sadar Subdivision defeated Jirania Subdivision by 3-1. Among the Sadar team Anita Sarkar scored two goals while Sonali Malakar scored the other. In the final match Sadar defeated Mohanopur by 3-0. Anita Sarkar, Sonali Malakar and Isha Das scored the goals.
With two back to back wins Sadar Subdivision became district champion. At the end 16 member West district team has been formed for the state event which will be held at Sabroom from August 19-21.
On the other hand West district Girl’s Under 14 football tournament will start from tomorrow.
