Oath taking of newly elected members of Students Council held at Iswarchandra Vidyasagar College of Belonia today.
From information it revealed that no opposition candidates could file nomination for the Students Council poll under pressure of SFI and TSU. It reveals that the devotees of former Students leader Manik Sarkar succeeded to occupy the Students Council of the College without any contest.
About 56 delegates of newly elected Students Council took oath at 310 APC room of the college.
Principal of the college Prabir Bhowmik inaugurated the programme by lighting lamp. Later the Principal Bhowmik administered the oath taking. Biswajit Tripura took oath as Vice President and Joydeb Baidya took oath as General Secretary of the Council.
Meanwhile one SFI member injured seriously by the attack of former and present leaders of SFI in reaction of an old dispute inside the students council today. The house of injured SFI member is at Gardang in Santirbazar. He is now at home under the strong guard of ruling party leaders.
