Second year of State Rural Sports Tournament will start immediately after Durga Puja and for this planning has been going on for the successful completion. Sports Minister Sahid Choudhury announced this at the Sports tournament today held at 32 no ward. At Biplabi Bagha Jatin Park near Melarmath the tournament has been inaugurated by Sahid Choudhury.
Among the other dignitaries Mayor in Council Biswajit Deb, Biswanath Saha and Prominent Social worker Shyamal Roy remained present. To mark the Janma Jayanti of Rabindra-Najrul-Sukanta, sports tournament along with seat and draw competition has been held with the initiative of Ward No 32. While in the evening the felicitation ceremony of respected personalities and prize distribution held.
After inaugurating the tournament Sports Minister Sahid Choudhury said,” There were huge response from every parts of the state in the opening year of Rural Sports and keeping in mind we are going to organize the second year of the tournament as this time the tournament will be held much early. Sports field makes vital role for National Solidarity and health remains good.”
He also said that from these events lots of fresh talents will come out and they will play for the nation in the future which will surely be a pride moment for the state. After the inaugural ceremony sports equipments has been distributed while in the prize distribution ceremony in the evening. Rabindra Prize Awardee Prominent Educationalist Dr Brajagopal Roy has been felicitated by the Ward.
