Ratan inaugurates water treatment project with 3 lakh gallon capacity

AMBASSA:

State Government has taken initiative to reach drinking water at all parts of the state, said DWS minister Ratan Bhowmik while inaugurating drinking water treatment project with a capacity of three lakh gallon per day at Panisagar in North Tripura district today.

This project will help to reach purified drinking water at 11 wards of Panisagar Nagar Panchayat. At the initiative stage the facility has been provided at five wards. Later on the drinking water will be to 11 wards after extension of pipeline. An amount of Rs. 3.4 crore spent for construction of the project.

Speaking on the occasion DWS minister Bhowmik said, “The State Government is determined to supply drinking water at all corners of the state within financial constraint. The government has given priority to reach drinking water at tribal dominated areas. Specifically works of different projects for supplying drinking water are going on at Damcherra, Khedacherra, Dashda, Jampui Hill, Gandacherra and Longtarai Valley.”

Besides, Bhowmik stressed on protection of peace, harmony and unity for development and progress of the state.

During speech Sabhadhipati Pratima Das expected cooperation of all to stop misuse of water. Chief Engineer of DWS B.K. Debbarma delivered the welcome address. Chairperson of Panisagar Nagar Panchayat Arundhuti Das presided over the meeting. Among others DM of North Saradindu Choudhury, MLA Sudhir Das, Chairman of Panisagar Panchayat Samiti Shital Das were present on the occasion.
