Tripura, along with the rest of the parts of the country observed National Ayurveda Day on Friday. The state level programme was held here at Agartala Rabindra Bhavan.
The state Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy has inaugurated the state level function and said that there is a need to promote Ayurveda as a Pathway to Holistic Well-being. He said that Ayurveda is perceived as one of the most ancient and well documented system of medicine equally relevant in modern times.
The Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre has undertaken numerous initiatives through its Ministry of Ayush to promote the use of Ayurveda, he said, adding that moving in line with the Centre, the Tripura government has given priority to the expansion of advanced medical services and infrastructure development in the state.
The minister however urged to create a sense of awareness in today's generation and promote Ayurvedic principles of healing in society.
The Mission Director of National Health Mission Dilip Kumar Chakma, Head of Office of the State Ayurveda Hospital Dr. Sunanda Bhattacharya, and others were present in the programme.
