Dhalai district has been included among 117 backward districts of the country. Central Government is determined to take forward the districts through implementation of different development projects.
At present a new scheme Poshon Bikash Yojona is going to introduce in Dhalai along with the previous schemes like Ujjala Yojona, Ujala Yojona, PM’s Mudra Yojona and PM’s Abas Yojona.
Meanwhile DM of Dhalai Bikash Singh convened a high level meeting yesterday by announcing September as Poshon Month. Officers of Social Welfare and Social Education, BDOs of 8 Blocks, delegates of panchayats and Village Committees under 8 Blocks were present in the meeting.
DM instructed to complete the census of pregnant mothers and children of 5 blocks within September. The works of the scheme will begin at remaining 3 blocks after by-poll of Panchayat. The workers of Anganwadi, ASHA and Education department will be engaged for Poshon Bikash Yojona.
Special care will be taken for each children of all anganwadi centre under the scheme. Height, weight of every child will be measured and medicine will be provided in time to reduce rate of Anemia by 2 percent.
Besides, special care will be taken to take pregnant mother to Govt. hospital, vaccination and feeding breast milk to new born baby. Syrup and tablet and weighing machine will be provided for all children for all schools of the district and Rs. 5000 will be provided to each mother after birth of child in the hospital under the scheme.
DM stressed on making the scheme as Jana Andolan and arrangement of drinking water, toilet, cleanliness of children and gardening at anganwadi centres under the scheme.
