Poor condition of 2 roads cripples communication of Kailashahar

KAILASHAHAR:

The poor condition of Kailashahar - Kumarghat Road and Fatikroy – Kumarghat Road has increased suffering of common people of Kailashahar subdivision. Although discussion held at review meeting on repair both the roads before two months in presence of Chief Minister.

The public representatives had also a demand repair both the roads at the earliest to reduce troubles faced by people. But repair works of the main roads has been suspended. At the same time carpeting of Kailashahar – Kumarghat Road suspended during last one week after completion of carpeting at little area of the road.

The distance of Kailashahar - Kumarghat Road is about 28 Km. A small vehicle can cover the distance within one hour. But it takes more than one and half hour due to pot holes in several parts of the road. The journey became a troublesome job due to pot holes and damage on the road.

An amount of Rs. 80 crore allotted for the road in 2012. No work of mateling and carpeting has been done on the road except soil filling and building some pucca culvert on the road during last six years.

As a result the passengers became the ultimate sufferer. In such a situation most of the vehicles move through  Kailashahar – Fatikroy via Kumarghat Road with passengers of train as distance is less in comparison to the main road. But the number of pot holes also increased after damage of different places of the alternative road. As a result became near about unfit for movement.

In spite of that hundreds of passengers move through the road everyday to catch the train.

The passengers had an expectation of repairing both the roads after the change of power in the state. But the situation remained the same. In spite of that common people are depending on two representatives of new government MLA Bhagaban Das and MLA Sudhangsu Das. Information revealed that contractor is not working after allocation of fund for the road. As a result common people are facing lot of trouble everyday.
