PM to inaugurate CGT project at 129 districts including Udaipur

UDAIPUR:

Long pending demand of people in Gomati District is going to fulfill with the introduction of PNG and CNG infrastructure within few days. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the infrastructure under CGT project at 129 districts of the country through video conferencing at 3:55 p.m. on November 22.

The central programme of TNGCL will be held at Rajarshi Kalakhsetra of Udaipur in presence of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Tourism minister Pranajit Sinha Roy and MP Sankar Prasad Dutta.

It is expected that CNG and PNG infrastructure will be completed in Gomati district including Udaipur after Agartala within next few years.

Meanwhile the vehicle owners and house owners expressed their happiness with news of PNG and CNG service in Gomati in near future.

Sources said that more than 36000 domestic connections and 425 commercial connections of CNG are prevailing under TNGCL in Agartala. The number of domestic connections was 27,000 in 2017 in the capital. The number of connection reached to 35,000 till November.

Here it could be recalled that the initiative of introducing the service was taken in Gomati district during the period of previous government according to demand of Udaipur Municipal Council.

MP Jitendra Choudhury submitted the demand to Union Ministry of Petroleum to introduce PNG and CNG service all over the state. Later Left Front Government took initiative of setting gas Depo near Khilpara of Udaipur. State Government bought the land for the purpose. However, administration sources said that the than government failed to get any green signal from the centre for the project.

As a result the initiative was postponed. At present initiative has been taken to provide gas service from door to door within 2026 since BJP Government came into power. Udaipur will be the central zone of concerned project under Gomati district. TNGCL will start the project from here. It is expected that common people would get domestic gas pipe line service within 3 to 4 years if everything goes in right track. Later on the service will be extended gradually to Amarpur, Santirbazar, Sabroom, Belonia.
