Aiming to improve socio-economic condition of tribal communities, by adopting saturation coverage for tribal families, the Tripura government, along with the rest of the nations has taken multipronged plan under the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PM-JUGA).
Addressing a press conference here in the conference hall of the secretariat on Tuesday, the Secretary of the Tripura Tribal Welfare Department Brijesh Pandey said that the PM-JUGA will be launched officially on October 2 next. At least 63000 villages of the country will be brought under this campaign, where 5 crore people of the country will be benefited from this, he added.
The campaign program will continue for the next 5 years. He said that 392 tribal majority villages of 52 blocks of 8 districts of the state of Tripura will be brought under this campaign, where over 8 lakhs people will be benefited from this.
He said that various issues have been given importance in this campaign program, which includes provision of paved houses, purified drinking water, electricity supply, distribution of Ayushman Bharat cards etc. among eligible Janjati families.
