In an incident road mishap one person died at Matai in Belonia today. Sources said that Banbihari Pal (50) of Matai Chalitakhala under Hrishyamukh Block of Belonia Police Station was going by bi-cycle from his house on Belonia - Hrishyamukh Road nearby Mohini Tripura Smriti and Ram Mandir.
At that time a tipper car (TR-03E 1598) ran over Banbihari Pal from back side which was going towards Hrishyamukh. The eye witness of the incident who were waiting for vehicle to go and office and school said that Pal died on the spot. Immediately the local people brought Pal to Matai Primary Health Centre.
Observing his condition the doctors of Matai PHC referred him to Belonia Subdivision Hospital. Although the doctors of the Hospital failed to save his life. Meanwhile police detained the car. The car driver absconded after the incident.
Meanwhile a case has been filed at Belonia Police Station under case no 262/18 according to Section 279/304 of IPC and M.V.Act. The body has been handed over to the family members after post mortem. The incident brought down a poll of gloom at the area.
