Oil crisis hits city, created crisis alleged

AGARTALA:

Massive crisis of fuel reported in the city since yesterday. Almost all the fuel filling stations recorded huge queues of two-wheelers and four-wheelers since last night. Most of the people standing in queues seemed unknown of the fact as to why the crisis has emerged.

Speaking to this website, owner of petrol pump said, the crisis emerged as the quantity of oil use to enter the city everyday is not entering since last seven to eight days. “Since last week, the gravity of the problem deepened. Due to the untimely rain, the under-construction road between Kumarghat and Pecharthal went out of operation. The mud-spattered all over the road with the rainwater flowing down which made the drivers think twice before heading towards Agartala. Whenever, the road is cleaned, the vehicles are passed in ones and twos” said the owner.

On the other hand, civil administration took strong exception to the crisis and claimed there is no dearth of oil supply. “The entire crisis is created. A section of errant traders trying to take advantage of the general strike slated on January 8. According to our reports, there is no crisis in oil supply. A section of traders are trying ploy the general public creating an artificial crisis” a source in the sub-divisional magistrate office said in the condition of anonymity.
