Mir Iqbal Trophy Under 14Football tournament will start from August 28 and the group stage matches will continue till September 2. Tripura has been placed in Group B along with Manipur and Meghalaya.
Tripura will play their first match in the tournament on August 31 against Meghalaya while will play their second and last match on September 2 against Manipur.
From each group one team will qualify for the next round as this year Tripura has been placed in a very strong group. For this tournament with 40 footballers selection camp was held at Badharghat and from them 20 have been selected primarily.
From these 20 players, medical test have been done at IGM of 10 while the rest of the player’s medical test will be held tomorrow. After that the final team will be selected and Tripura will leave on August 25.
