A minor girl had been raped by two minors at a village that falls under Santirbazar sub-division, SDPO Santirbazar Nirupam Datta said. The incident, few days after a minor’s charred body recovery at Durgabari area raised a number of questions on the matter of women safety.
According to police, the incident took place on April 17 last and the family members of the victim filed a complaint with the police today at Santirbazar police station.
“As per the preliminary investigation, the minor girl has been raped by two minors at their native village on April 17 last. An official complaint in this regards has been lodged today. We have apprehended the accused and handed over them to the juvenile justice board,” said SDPO Nirupam Datta.
However, local sources said, the girl has been abducted by the duo while playing in the courtyard and later recovered in a nearby jungle.
