Manu-Simlung NH in Tripura to be readied by 2021 for connectivity with Mizoram

AGARTALA:

Aiming to strengthen the connectivity with neighbouring Mizoram, the Tripura government is contemplating to finish the long pending work of 84.92 km Manu-Simlung National High 44A by 2021 next. The BJP lead coalition government in Tripura has put this project work in priority list as part of developing connectivities with the neighbouring states.

An official said there has been several attempts earlier to complete the road but due allegedly due to some negligence role of the BRO, the work remained pending which also caused an affect on the connectivity between Aizawl and Agartala.  

However, the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) was given the responsibility for time-bound action to complete the pending project work in developing connectivity of the state with the neighbouring.

Polling begins for Tripura East LS constituency

Election officials said that around 14 lakh electorate, including 6.94 lakh female voters, are eligible to cast their votes in 1,664 polling stations in different districts of the state to decide the fate of nine candidates in the politically crucial parliamentary seat.
