Former Tripura Chief Minister and BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, labeling him a “fraud and cheater” unfit to lead Delhi. Deb accused the former Delhi Chief Minister of having a Communist-style approach to politics, based on deception and misinformation.
During the recently concluded Delhi elections, Deb actively campaigned for BJP candidate Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi Assembly Constituency, where Kejriwal contested and faced defeat. Reacting to the BJP’s win, Deb attributed the victory to the leadership and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Recalling Kejriwal’s political rise in 2014, Deb stated, “Back then, I was not in active politics, but I could see that he had a mindset similar to that of the CPIM. However, the people of Delhi were unaware. I took a pledge that one day, he would face defeat. Under the guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah and PM Modi, I got the opportunity to campaign in the very constituency where Kejriwal was contesting. I worked with full dedication and positivity under the leadership of Amit Shah.”
Deb further asserted that Delhi is now free from corruption following Kejriwal’s defeat. “You cannot mislead people forever. Just like Congress failed with its propaganda in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the people of Delhi have now given a befitting response to AAP’s lies. Under PM Modi’s leadership, Delhi will see a transparent and progressive government, paving the way for a ‘Viksit Delhi’ (Developed Delhi). India’s economy has significantly strengthened due to Modi’s governance, and Delhi will now move forward on the same path,” he added.
