Initiatives to be taken for IT, TCS, TPSC coaching for ex-servicemen: CM Dr Manik Saha

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday chaired the 29th meeting of the Sainik Board here in the conference hall of the secretariat and said that initiatives will be taken to arrange necessary coaching for the preparation of ex-servicemen and their dependents for the IT, TCS, TPSC exams.

The Chief Minister asked the Director of the Sainik Welfare Department to take initiative to provide complete information about the list of enterprising ex-servicemen who are interested in working in various sectors such as micro, small and medium industries, start-ups, animal husbandry, fisheries etc. in the state. The Chief Minister mentioned in the meeting that a specific policy will be formulated in this regard.

During the discussion at the meeting, Director of the Department of Soldiers' Welfare, Retired Captain (IN) Paramjit Singh, discussed in detail the programs undertaken for the welfare of deceased and former soldiers.

He detailed the steps taken in view of the decisions taken in the last meeting of the State Sainik Board. Various proposed issues for the welfare of deceased and ex-servicemen were also discussed in the meeting.

Arrangements for training of ex-servicemen and their dependents, enhancement of the award value of gallantry and service awards for state soldiers, enhancement of one-time ex-gratia grant for state defence personnel who died/became physically disabled in war or conflict, renovation of Sainik Rest House, provision of full concession to ex-servicemen, increase in the number of seats reserved for ex-servicemen in state government jobs, expansion of Integrated Sainik Complex etc. were discussed in the meeting.
