High-Level Meeting Held to Curb Illegal Infiltration in Tripura

AGARTALA:

A high-level administrative meeting was held today at the state secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, following the directives of Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, to review and strengthen measures against illegal infiltration in the state.

Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag, Home Secretary Abhishek Singh, Inspector General of BSF, and senior officials from various central security agencies attended the meeting. The agenda focused on tackling illegal entry from neighboring Bangladesh and the issue of Rohingya infiltration.

According to information shared by the Border Security Force (BSF), the number of illegal infiltrators entering Tripura from Bangladesh has decreased in the last three months.

The officials reviewed the current situation and emphasized the need for continued coordination among all security and intelligence agencies involved in border protection.

The state government, the BSF, and other law enforcement bodies are maintaining strict surveillance to curb infiltration and ensure law and order along the border. Discussions were held on the proper apprehension and repatriation of infiltrators, and steps being taken to handle such incidents lawfully and efficiently.

It was also noted that intelligence agencies are maintaining regular communication with the BSF to bolster border security and prevent future breaches.
