High Court gives relief to TCS/TPS aspirants

AGARTALA:

Giving relief to the TCS/TPS Gr-II aspirants, the High Court of Tripura today upheld the Single Bench’s order that set aside the state government’s notification canceling the recruitment process of TCS/TPS Gr-II which was initiated in pursuance of an advertisement published in April, 2016.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice AA Kureshi and Justice Arindam Lodh passed the order while hearing a writ appeal filed by state government that challenged the Single Bench’s order which set aside the government’s notification primarily on the ground that no amendment in the recruitment rule has been carried out by state government and the recruitment process was in the advanced stage of completion.

The Single Bench headed by Justice Subhasish Talapatra also directed the Tripura Public Service Commission to complete the recruitment process within eight weeks.

The recruitment process was canceled by an order of the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department on August 20, last year.

One Samudra Debbarma had challenged the cancellation of the recruitment process on the ground that the new recruitment policy as published under the notification bearing No.F.20(1)-GA(P&T)/18 dated 05.06.2018 issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, Government of Tripura cannot have any manner of bearing over the process of recruitment in TCS Grade-II and TPS Gr-II as initiated by the advertisement No.04/2016 dated 30.04.2016.
