Amid concerns over a possible fuel shortage due to the recent war-like situation in the West Asia region, an unusual rush has been observed at petrol pumps across the state over the past couple of days. Two-wheeler riders and other vehicle owners have been seen crowding fuel stations to stock up on petrol and diesel.
In this context, the Department of Food and Supplies and Consumer Affairs has issued a statement to reassure the public that there is no cause for concern. According to the department, the state currently has adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas.
The department further stated that, as per reports received from the country’s major oil marketing companies, there is sufficient fuel stock available nationwide at present. Therefore, there is no reason to worry about any shortage of fuel or LPG.
Additionally, the state government has confirmed that sufficient quantities of food and other essential commodities are also in stock. The government has urged citizens not to panic or engage in unnecessary hoarding of fuel and other essential items.
