Former PWD chief engineer Sunil Bhowmik granted bail

AGARTALA:

Graft accused former PWD chief engineer Sunil Bhowmik has been granted bail today by the High Court of Tripura.

A single Bench of Justice Arindam Lodh granted the bail on condition of Rs 5 lakh personal bail bonds after hearing the arguments of both the sides.

Speaking to this correspondent, defense counsel Pijush Biswas said, the court heard the arguments of both sides and granted the bail application moved by the Sunil Bhowmik. He would, probably, freed by Tuesday evening, said Biswas.

He also claimed that there was no material to support the charges labeled against him.

“The police have no evidence to prove the charges labeled against him. As soon as the police files the charge sheet entire issue will be clear before all” Biswas told this reporter.
