Forest staffs recover smuggled wood worth of Rs. 70,000

CHURAIBARI:

Acting on secret information Forester of Panisagar Forest Department seized smuggled wood worth of Rs. 70,000 from Panisagar today.

Sources said that Forester of Panisagar Forest department Debjit Baidya along with Forest staffs was waiting secretly in front of Panitila Eco Park. Sensing the presence of Forest staffs the wood smugglers fled away with wood on a vehicle.

Sources said that the vehicle lost control and fell at a pot holes on the road at Pekucherra area.

Forest department sources said that Forest staffs of Panisagar detained the vehicle which was fleeing with teakwood from Nabincherra to Dharmanagar. The Forest staffs of Panisagar followed the car when it was fleeing from Panitila through other road.

At last the driver fled away when the car fell down at pot holes at Pekucherra area. The Forest staffs seized the wood and brought the wood to Forest department at Panisagar.
