Forward club today defeated Tripura Police by 2-0 today in the ongoing First division league football tournament organized by Tripura Football association. The match was very much important for both the teams as with this win at Umakanta mini stadium, forward saved them from going demotion.
On the other hand with this loss Tripura Police made their position strong to get demotion. In the whole match Tripura police played with lots of dominance but due to the failure from the strikers they eventually lost the match.
On the other hand Forward goalkeeper C Lal Zoama was unbeatable in front of the goal post as he also played a key part of the win. Also Goutam Debbarma played a vital role in the second half for Forward.
In the 33rd minute of the match Saikat Deb missed a easy chance while in the 37th minute of the match Forward scored the opening goal as Alex scored the opening goal by a superb header. In the last minute of the match Lau Sang Joala scored the second goal from penalty as in the end Forward won by 2-0. Tapas Debnath conducted the match.
