A delegation of Water Resource department led by MLA Sankar Roy visited border area from Amlighat to Madhab nagar today.
Chief Engineer of Water Resource department Bishu Kumar Debbarma, SE Swapan Kumar Dey, Executive Engineer Chinmoy Das, Engineer (Planner) Tamal Chakma and SDO of Water Resource department at Sabroom Bikash Tripura were among the members of the delegation.
The delegation of engineers visited the area to verify the possibility of construction of reservoir by creating dam on water of Chagalnaiya and Meru Cherra.
Later the Chief Engineer said, irrigation is possible at Samarganja and Madhab nagar by utilizing water of Chagalnaiya rivulet. At the same time water reservoir will be prepared by creating dam on Meru-cherra. As a result irrigation will be possible at Srinagar and Amlighat area. The survey of the projects will begin in the meantime.
MLA Sankar Roy said, government has taken initiative to bring 2000 hectare agriculture land of this area under irrigation. He expected that the farmers will be benefited by the project immediately after beginning of the project.
