Economic slowdown turning India into ‘poverty’ nation: Congress

AGARTALA:

The Pradesh Congress in Tripura today targeted the ruling BJP government at the centre and accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi over economic slowdown. The congress felt that massive economic slowdown is turning the country into a ‘Poverty nation’. Addressing a press conference here this evening congress spokesperson Pijush Kanti Biswas said, “The Tripura congress shall join the massive protest rally announced by the AICC at Delhi Ramlila Maidan on November 30.”

“Economic slowdown is pushing the nation towards poverty. People across the nation are unable to arrange their daily food,” adding to this Mr. Biswas said, “India is not secured under Narendra Modi lead government at the centre.” He viewed, “PM Modi is now on a run to sell the independent government departments like Bharat Petroleum and Air India to the private partners.”

Mr. Biswas however said, “The former congress president Sonia Gandhi has held a meeting with the congress leaders from different states in Delhi on November 16 to discuss the agitation programme against the Central government’s anti-people policies, especially economic slowdown, farmers’ distress, huge unemployment and other issues.”

The Congress announced on Saturday that it would hold a mega rally at the Ramlila Maidan on November 30 as a culmination of its State-level agitation against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government’s policies.
