Patient party and local people of Maharani gheroed Maharani Primary Health Centre today in allegation of death of a patient due to wrong treatment by doctor and nurses.
On being informed local MLA Biplab Kumar Ghosh, officers of Health department and police from Maharani Out Post rushed to the spot. The tension reached at high level at 1 p.m. At last the situation was controlled by intervention of police.
Patient party of deceased Prasenjit Das alleged that he died due to wrong treatment. At last MLA Ghosh and officers of Health department assured that action would be taken against the accused doctor or nurse if it proved anyone was involved with wrong treatment. At last the gherao withdrawn on the basis of assurance.
Sources said that a driver Prasenjit Das (30) was admitted at Maharani PHC with fever on Monday. Later he was pushed 3 to 4 injections. But his condition started to deteriorate after pushing injection, alleged the relatives.
They alleged that frothing came out from his mouth after injection. Immediately he was referred to Tepania District Hospital. But he died on the way to hospital.
