In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a dead body of Chaitanya Biswas (40) was discovered in the canal of DM Colony in Teliamura today.
The grim discovery was made by local residents around seven o'clock in the morning. The unidentified body, alone in the water, was immediately reported to the authorities. Teliamura sub-divisional police officer Prasun Kanti Tripura, Teliamura police station OC DSP Subrata Chakraborty and second officer Nandan Baidya swiftly arrived at the scene.
The victim, later identified as Chaitanya Biswas from Maiganga , located about a kilometer away, was recognizable from a distance due to the condition of the clothes on his face. Authorities and locals came together to identify the deceased.
The police recovered the body, which was subsequently transported to the sub-divisional hospital for post-mortem examination. While the exact cause of the tragic incident remains unknown, initial speculation points to excessive drinking.
However, authorities have emphasized that a thorough investigation is underway and the complete picture will only emerge after the post-mortem examination.
The incident has created a sense of unease and panic in the entire Teliamura region including the area where the body was found.
Residents are anxiously awaiting further details as the police continue their investigation. The community mourns the loss of Chaitanya Biswas and condolences are pouring in for the grieving family.
