Implementing the Epidemic Disease Act 1897, the Northeastern states of Tripura has readied all medical facilities in the government-aided prime hospitals like GB Pant hospital and TMC hospital in view of the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus across India. Concerned over this, the Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Friday said, “24 X 7 medical facilities are readied in view of this virus in almost all the major government-aided hospitals in the state.”
“Isolation wards are arranged in GB Pant hospital and TMC Hospital,” adding to this Mr. Deb tonight addressed a press conference at his office chamber and said, “No positive report has come up so far in our state unlike others in India.”
He said, “A medical team has already been set up to closely monitor the situation across the state.” He also said, “The state has already shut down its bordering areas with neighbouring Bangladesh except for the Agartala-Akhaura Check Post.”
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also informed, “The District magistrates were directed to closely monitor the situation and ensure restrictions of a large gathering in any of the areas across the state.”
“Government will distribute leaflets carrying the Do’s and Don’ts for novel Coronavirus,” adding to this Mr. Deb said, “Government is putting its utmost effort to reach these leaflets to every village and other areas of the state.”
Replying to the query the Chief Minister said, “As of now no educational institutions and others are directed to shut down as nobody is reported to be attacked with this virus so far in our state.” He lastly urged upon the common people of this state not to panic on the spread of this virus as the Tripura government is closely monitoring the situation and has taken all necessary measures to combat the spread of the virus.
