The Sepahijala District Court today convicted one Abdul Barek for murdering his wife Fatema Khatun and sentenced life term rigorous imprisonment and cash penalty of Rupees 10 thousand.
The Court also ruled that if the convict could not be able to pay the cash penalty he would be subjected to imprisonment for six more months.
Reportedly, Abdul Barek had murdered his wife Fatema Khatun on March 02, 2016 last. Fatema’s family members lodged an FIR with the local police station immediately after they heard the news of her death. Abdul and his family members were arrested after finding guilty but soon get out on bail. Public prosecutor, Manik Kumar Saha pleaded the case in favour the government.
