Complex surgeries along with treatment services for various complex diseases are now being successfully performed in district hospitals as well as major hospitals in the state.
Amirun Bibi (80), a resident of Bhagaban Nagar underwent a successful surgery on her right leg thigh hip joint at Unakoti District Hospital in Kailashahar yesterday. The surgery was performed by a medical team including specialist orthopaedic surgeons of Unakoti District Hospital.
The patient came to the emergency department of the district hospital with severe knee pain. After various tests, the orthopaedic doctors of the district hospital confirmed the problem in the hip joint of the woman's right leg and informed about her knee surgery.
Then the family members of the patient decided to undergo the surgery under the supervision of orthopaedic surgeons in the district hospital. Yesterday, the medical team including Dr. Nirmal Debbarma, specialist orthopaedic surgeon of Unakoti District Hospital, performed a successful surgery on the hip joint of Amirun Bibi's right leg.
The anaesthetist in this surgery was Dr. Rupamoy Das along with the orthopaedic PG doctor Dr. Ratnadeep Sengupta. Besides, the surgical team consisted of 3 staff nurses, Manideepa Debbarma, OT technicians, Nirupam Chakraborty and Jagathari Tripura, along with other health workers. Currently, the patient is under the supervision of doctors at Unakoti District Hospital.
