After many years the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association North East Zone Conference has started in the state from today.
Addressing a press conference this afternoon, Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswabandhu Sen said that the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association North East Zone Conference is going to be held in Tripura after many years and this conference has been started from today and would continue till June 6.
The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly said that the Speakers and Deputy Speakers and officials of all other states of North Eastern region except Manipur will be present in this conference.
Today Tripura government organized a cultural program and dinner in honor of guests from various states.
In the press conference, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly said that tomorrow morning, on the occasion of the conference, the delegates coming will be visit various places of interest in the state.
“Executive committee meeting will be held at 12:30 pm. In this meeting it will be decided where the next meeting will be held. Due to the adoption of Act East policy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the conference will discuss the improvement in communication system, infrastructure in the region - terrorism etc”, he said.
He sought everyone's help in extending the utmost hospitality in honor of the guests coming from different states. Tripura Assembly Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal and Government Chief Whip Kalyani Roy were also present at the press conference.
