Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will inaugurate the newly constructed two storied building of Amarpur Subdivision Hospital on August 7. At present hectic preparation is going on at the construction site of the hospital to complete last finishing.
Meanwhile chairman of Amarpur Nagar Panchayat Tarun Pal, SDO of PWD B.B. Das, contractor Shibu Saha and others went to the site to observe the finishing touch today. They also observed the preparation of inauguration programme.
It is well known that the Amarpur Subdivision Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals of the state which started since the decade of 60s. At that time it was a trustworthy hospital of the areas like Taidu, Ampi, Sechua, Dalak, Chelagang, Nutanbazar, Tirthamukh, Karbook, Silacherri.
At present all hospitals have been modernized. For that purpose the people of Amarpur had a long pending demand to modernize the hospital. With the same purpose different political parties submitted memorandum to administration in different times.
Accordingly the State Government allotted Rs.9.42 crore and the construction work started in June, 2014. The stipulated time to complete the work was 24 months. The contractors said that the technical fault of the department is the reason behind late in construction.
Meanwhile the local senior citizens and labourers expressed their happiness in completion of the building expecting that they would not have to move to Udaipur and Agartala for treatment. They also expected better service of doctors in different department and cleanliness of the hospital.
SDO B.B. Das said that the base the building constructed with strong foundation as the area is at earth quake prone zone.
Chairperson of ANP expected that it would add new feather in the cap of Amarpur.
