Tripura government has decided to distribute spices produced through fair price shop in the state.
On May 16 next Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will officially inaugurate the distribution of spices products through fair price shops in a function which will be held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala.
Following the decision, the Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs minister Sushanta Chowhdury today chaired a review meeting of the department.
He said, “One Nation One Ration Card system initiated by the Prime Minister of our country Narendra Modi has brought relief to the lives of poor people of the country. After the launch of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana across the country, the beneficiaries are getting almost twice the ration than before”.
The minister said that through the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, ration is being delivered to the people of the poor people and the initiative aims to improve the quality of life for the common people by providing new food products at low cost through the public distribution system.
“The state government under the able leadership and guidance of our Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha ji is working tirelessly to create a new definition of easy living by improving the quality of life of the common people of the state. Our government wants to deliver new food products to people at low cost through public distribution system. Very soon, through rationing system, our Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs are going to start distribution of different types of spices used in daily cooking. On May 16, Chief Minister of the state will officially inaugurate the distribution of spices products through fair price shops in a function to be held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan”, the minister said.
He said that taking this goal the department held an important preparatory meeting.
“In the discussion with all the officials present in the preparatory meeting, there was a detailed discussion about how to deliver the new spices products of proper quality to the consumers through the Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs as per our plan”, he added.
During the meeting Secretary of the department Ravel Hamendra Kumar, Department of Officer Nirmal Adhikari, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharya and other officers of the department from across the state were present.
