Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today said that the role of different clubs to create a rich and positive society is immense as, apart from social work, different clubs are working as a mini-government.
The Chief Minister today inaugurated a blood donation camp at Vivekananda Sangha in Collegetilla and donated an ambulance at Swami Vivekananda Club in Bardowali, with the financial support of the MLA Development Fund.
Addressing the event, the CM said during the assembly election the state has suffered a blood crisis and following this the Chief Minister appealed to all the citizens, starting from social clubs, schools, and colleges to donate blood voluntarily.
“We need one percent blood as per population. However, we have observed that around 42, 000 units of blood are available in our state. We have 14 blood banks and among them, 12 are the government. Storage of blood is also important. Patient suffering from Thalassemia, cancer, and haemophilia needs blood. The importance of blood is immense. There is no alternative gift than donating blood voluntarily. There is no substitute for blood”, said Chief Minister.
He further said that those who are running a club are only not running the club but also running a mini-government.
“Club can solve all problems starting from family issues, land issues and etc. Everybody needs to connect with the club. Social clubs should take a vital role in eradicating the drug issue. Clubs are now working with positive thinking for the overall development”, he added.
