CM Dr. Manik Saha meets PM Modi in Delhi; apprises of developmental projects in Tripura

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and acknowledged PM Modi of the ongoing implementation of different welfare schemes of the Centre and the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Saha congratulated PM Modi on the successful completion of the G-20 meeting held in Delhi under the chairmanship of India.

During the meeting, PM Modi gave his suggestions regarding the implementation of all developmental projects in the state and the overall development of the state. Moreover, the Chief Minister also discussed with the Prime Minister about the launch of international air services, movement of vehicles through the Maitri Bridge, Agartala-Akhaura rail project and the work of the National Highway.

Dr. Saha said that the Tripura government has taken various steps to encourage investors to set up industries. In the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed satisfaction over the recent victory in the by-elections to two assembly constituencies in the state.

American prelate Robert Prevost elected New Pope

The Chicago-born Prevost, 69, a member of the Augustinian order and who had served extensively in Peru, was Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops and President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America since 2023. He was appointed to the posts by Pope Francis, who elevated him as a Cardinal.
