In a heartfelt gesture of compassion and solidarity, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today extended financial assistance to the families of seven individuals who recently lost their lives in separate drowning incidents across the state.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, each bereaved family was handed a cheque of Rs 4 lakh by Dr. Saha during a solemn ceremony held in Agartala. The event was attended by senior administrative officials and local representatives, reflecting the state’s commitment to standing beside its citizens in times of crisis.
The victims hailed from different parts of the West Tripura district and were identified as Piyali Debbarma and Priyanka Debbarma of Ramsadhupara under Sidhai police station, Mahindra Singh of Jirania Jaynagar, Tanmay Debnath of Mandwipara, Liton Saha of Ujan Abhaynagar, Prosenjit Debnath of Majlishpur Brajnagar, and Ankush Rishi Das of Pratapgarh.
Expressing his profound grief, Dr. Saha conveyed heartfelt condolences to the grieving families. “No words can ease the pain of losing a loved one, but I assure you that the government stands firmly beside you in this hour of sorrow,” he said, praying for strength and solace for those affected.
The financial assistance forms part of the state government’s immediate relief measures, aimed at helping families navigate the challenges following sudden and tragic bereavement.
This initiative underscores the administration’s humane approach and its unwavering support for the people of Tripura in moments of personal and collective tragedy.
