As India marks the first anniversary of the nationwide vaccination drive against Covid-19 today; Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and claimed it is under the able leadership of the Prime Minister, the indigenously prepared covid vaccination was started on this day.
Deb on Sunday visited the COVaiD Vaccination Centre at Arundhutinagar Sub-Health Center. He said that a large scale immunization programs are being carried out across the country giving priority to the protection of the lives of the citizens of the country. Never before in history, has this type of a large-scale vaccination campaign been undertaken, Deb claimed.
He said the nationwide vaccination program, which started on this day last year, has already provided about 157 crore doses and out of the total dose of Covid vaccines, about 76 crore doses were administered to the women.
He said that as a result of various public awareness programs and positive measures, out of the total vaccine dose, 99 crore Covid vaccine dose has been given in rural areas. As a result, it has become possible to decentralize the benefits of vaccination across the country instead of urbanization.
The Chief Minister further said that according to the voter list, 99.53 per cent of the first dose and 82.35 per cent of the second dose of Covid vaccination has been administered in Tripura. Besides, the state is successfully implementing the vaccination process for 15-18 year olds.
