To stop corrupt practices, the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today announced salary hike for the office bearers of three tier panchayats. “I have decided to hike the salary so as to cut corrupt practices which generally starts from panchayat level.” He said, “The government representatives in panchayats and other bodies were deep necked in corruption during the Left regime. And I do not want this to continue as this deprives the public.”
“The office bearers in municipality, village council and BAC chairman shall also under the coverage of this pay hike,” adding to this Chief Minister threatened of stern action against those officers who are found to be necked in corruption.
He said, “Nobody should be indulged with any corrupt practice like that of the Left regime. I am hiking the salary from the public money so the public should be rendered with quality service.”
Rs. 15000 is hiked for the Zilla Sabhadipati, Rs. 10000 is hiked for the Panchayat samiti chairman, Rs. 7000 is hiked for the Panchayat Vice-chairman, Rs. 5000 has been hiked for Pradhan of Gram Panchayat and Rs. 4000 is hiked for the Upa-Pradhan of Gram Panchayat.
The Chief Minister however urged upon the newly elected office bearers of the three-tier panchayat to maintain cleanliness and transparency in their duty and stay away from corrupt practice. The Chief Minister was addressing a workshop cum training programme for the newly elected members of the three tier panchayat.
