In view of the rising pre-poll violence in the state, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sriram Taranikanti on Sunday assures of intensifying security forces along the bordering areas of Assam and Mizoram, apart from India-Bangladesh border.
He was addressing a press conference at state Election Commissioner Office.
He said, "Earlier in all party meet, we have urged upon almost all the political parties to maintain peace while campaigning anywhere in the state."
Adding to this he said that despite the fact that security measures have been tightened up in and around, but it is required to intensify the security at some sensible areas.
He informed that most of the bordering areas have been sealed to ensure free and fair election this time.
