Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Tuesday said that the state government would not let any students feel boredom or suffer in anxiety at this lockdown period and hence a call centre had been launched for speedy redressal of the student issues.
“The state government has taken phase wise steps to ensure proper guidance of the students in the pandemic situation. In the first phase recorded classes have been telecasted in various media channels. Later, interactive classes replace the older format and now, we are trying to reach the students in real time and thus a call centre has been set up,” Nath said after inaugurating the call centre.
The call centre no. 0381-241-0053, he said, will not only serve as a study guide for the students but will also solve mental issues of the students. The department has empanelled 24 teachers along with 4 doctors to provide subject wise and problem wise solutions to the students. The matter will be proved highly beneficial for the students when there is a sense of tension palpable at every layer of the society, he hoped.
Nath, on the other hand, also launched an online portal www.highereducation.tripura.gov.in for admission of students in under-graduate courses at various colleges. “This year we have shifted the entire college counseling process into online mode. Now students are enabled to prefer six colleges and get admitted as per his or her performance, all the intermediary forces that used to influence the admission process have been neutralized through this move”, Nath said adding that the state government had also waived off the admission fees of the college students in view of the Covid 19 situations.
