The cabinet ministers of Tripura government has felicitated and congratulated Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha for successfully completing one year in the office.
The felicitation program was held during a special cabinet meeting today at the Secretariat.
During the event, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Industries & Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, ARDD and Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma and Minister of Cooperation Sukla Charan Noatia greeted the Chief Minister Dr Saha handing him over a flower bouquet.
In 2018, the under the leadership of former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb the BJP formed it's first government. However, within four years of his tenure, he resigned following the direction of the party's central leadership on May 14, 2022.
On the same night, an urgent meeting of legislative party was held at the official residence of the Chief Minister at Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Lane.
During that period Dr Saha who was lone MP in Rajya Sabha, a person with a clean image, was unanimously elected as the Chief Minister and the leader of the house.
On 15th May 2022, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha took oath as Chief Minister of Tripura in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan.
The most notable work during the tenure of Prof. Dr. Manik Saha as Chief Minister was to bring coordination between the government and with the BJP.
Besides, he can be seen to take strong steps as a chief minister to bring the organization in a strong position.
It is under the able leadership of CM Dr Saha that the BJP got incredible success in the 2023 assembly elections.
Prof. Dr. Manik Saha was sworn in as Chief Minister for the second term with the blessings of the people and the immense confidence of the central leadership.
Among the notable achievements of Prof. Dr. Manik Saha's tenure as Chief Minister in this one year period is the hike of social allowance of Rs. 2000 and provision of 17% DA in the interests of employees. For the interests of job aspirants, provided job to all TET passed aspirants and etc.
For the overall development, the government under the leadership of Chief Minister has set up first dental college in the state.
The people of the state witnessed significant role of the Chief Minister in launching the My Government web portal, inauguration of Smart Training Center with state-of-the-art facilities in the IT Bhavan and Digital Tripura Training Center towards building Digital Tripura.
Also, people have witnessed Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Shah's unprecedented initiative to build a drug-free Tripura and a strong initiative to push aside narrow politics to solve the blood crisis.
Other notable achievements during the current Chief Minister's tenure include successfully holding the first G20 summit.
He also played key role in bringing the students of Tripura who were stuck in Manipur.
At present, the government is working to set up a Arya Bhatt International University in North Tripura district with the active role of the present Chief Minister.
Experts believe that no Chief Minister has played such a positive role for the interest of the people of Tripura in just one year's tenure.
