Panic gripped the Nalsing Sardar Para area of Kaladepa in Manubazar this morning after the body of a 9-year-old girl, who had been missing since yesterday evening, was recovered from a nearby rubber plantation. The deceased has been identified as Ujjashikha Tripura, daughter of Rahim Tripura.
According to sources, the child had mysteriously gone missing around 4 pm on Monday. Despite frantic searches by the family and local residents throughout the evening, there was no trace of her. Early Tuesday morning, her body was discovered in a rubber plantation adjacent to her home, sending shockwaves through the locality.
The family members have alleged that Ujjashikha was murdered and have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.
Police from the Manubazar Police Station rushed to the scene upon receiving the information. The body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
“A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. We are awaiting the autopsy report to proceed further,” a police official said.
The incident has sparked fear and outrage among the local residents, who are now demanding increased vigilance and security for children in the area.
