BJP MLA attacked allegedly by ally IPFT supporters

AGARTALA:

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tribal MLA Rampada Jamatia today narrowly escaped from the alleged attack of his ally partner IPFT supporters. The incident took place at Ganganagar Ambasa in Dhalai Tripura district today while the BJP MLA Mr. Jamatia was about to address a gathering in the community hall at Ganganagar in a government programme.

Jamatia alleged, "A large number of unruly IPFT supporters stormed the hall and chased the audience to discover an attack on me."

"I filed an FIR with Gandacherra police station naming three miscreants ,Bijay Jamatya, Gouranga Reang and ten others," adding to this while addressing a press conference Mr. Jamatia said, "They abused me profusely and attempted to attack upon me but I have narrowly escaped despite the fact that police acted as spectators while the incident was occurring."

Mr. Jamatia however said, "Despite trying several times to contact with the Chief Minister I failed to do so as there was no response to his repeated calls."
